Heritage Academy focuses on accommodating different learning styles and abilities. We promote kinaesthetic learning through frequent activities and field trips, and regularly invite guest speakers to share their knowledge and experiences with our students. To better support your child’s classroom learning experience, Heritage Academy has a variety of multi-sensory teaching aids (such as Dragon voice-recognition software), as well as our SMT program.

Heritage Academy takes great pride in adhering to the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines and providing an OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) upon successful completion of our Secondary Program. Our teachers and teaching assistants are certified and up-to-date on the latest techniques to help students with dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, and other learning disabilities.

In addition to delivering the highest standards in education, Heritage Academy also focuses on developing a strong connection to our community and the natural world.  We promote a different kind of learning, one that allows students to re-connect with the community, nature and the food that they consume. In addition to working closely with local organizations, this is accomplished through our school garden, where students take pride in planting and harvesting vegetables.
