  1. Summer School Registration Reminder
    The final day for Summer School Registration is May 31st, 2012.  There are a few spaces still available. Please email info@heritage-academy.com for more information.

 

  1. Senior Car Wash will be held on Thursday’s in May from 3:15 until 5pm.

As part of fundraising for this year’s senior student trip to New York, there will be a series of car washes in May. These car washes will run the following Thursdays in May from 3:15-5:00pm.  Any donation as payment is welcome. So bring your cars, trucks, vans and friends! Thank you very much for your continued support!

Car Wash Dates: Thursday, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

 

  1. Pet Day – Thursday, May 10th (Half Day from 9am to 12pm)
    Pet Day is here again.  Dogs that are spayed/neutered, toilet trained and vaccinated are invited to come for a visit.  Dogs will be spending most of their visit supervised in the gym, but will have outdoor playtime during recesses. All small dogs and cats will require a crate. Other small animals such as; rodents, amphibians, arachnids, etc. that are crated will be allowed to remain in individual classrooms. Any pets with anxiety should be kept at home. Dogs must be properly socialized. (Plays well with other dogs male or female) Please ensure that your pet has adequate food and water bowl for their visit. Starting this year, pets must be picked up by 12pm in order to ensure they are not over stressed. 4.    Denim Day- Tuesday, May 14th 

Join us to help raise money for the CURE foundation for Breast Cancer Research. All donations are welcome in the office. For each $1 that students donate, they will receive a pink ribbon to write their name on, which will be displayed in the office. On May 14th, students that have donated will be exempt from uniforms if they are wearing DENIM and/or PINK. Donations are also accepted in the form of a cheque, payable to the CURE Foundation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more. Any questions can be directed to thompson@heritage-academy.com

 

5.    Hoops for Heart 
Students in all grades will have the opportunity to participate in the Hoops for Heart challenge again this year.  In exchange for raising a minimum of $10 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, students who have submitted their donations forms will participate in a sporting activity and barbecue on Friday, May 24th.  Forms are due Monday May 14th.

 

 

6.    Intramural Counsel Fundraising Activities

     

   – Rent-A-Grad Auction will be held on Friday May 3rd at 9am.

(The graduates will be auctioned off and after that they will be under the classes command during all break times!  This means that you can ask for the graduates to carry lunches, attend lunch at your class table, play a game outside at recess, etc.)

      – Backwards and Opposites Day on Friday May 17th.

(For $1 you can participate and dress up for the day)

- Fancy Nails Day on Tuesday May 28th.

(Back by popular demand, we are hosting another pampering day where you can get your nails done

for $5 at lunch)

 

  1. Victoria Day – Monday, May 20th
    The school will be closed on Monday, May 20th for Victoria Day.

 

  1. Senior Trip – May 31st to June 2nd
    Students in grades 9 through 12 that had signed up for the senior trip will be departing for New York on Friday May 31st and will be returning on Sunday June 2nd . For any information, please contact Ms. Graham at graham@heritage-academy.com

 

  1. Heritage Fair (Re-scheduled to May 29th at 2pm)

Students in various grades will be giving historical presentations to parents of visitors. Come and join us to learn about our students cultures and ancestries.

 

  1. Potato Project Launch – May 31st

May 31st the Second Annual Potato Project launch will be happening from 12:00 pm-5:00pm.  Last year we donated almost a ton of fresh food and we would like to break that record this year!  The Mayor and local city Councilors will be present as we sell seedlings and set up volunteers to support the Ottawa Food bank with fresh food.
