Admissions Process:
Heritage Academy specializes in supporting students with dyslexia, as well as ADD/ADHD and other learning differences. Students at Heritage Academy benefit from small classes, educational accommodation plans, and multisensory teaching.
Heritage Academy’s junior school welcomes students from Grades 1 to 8. Our senior school welcomes students from grade Grades 9 to 12. We accept applications year round for all grades, depending on class size and availability of classroom space.
Junior School: Grades 1-8
Applications are currently being accepted for admission to the junior school.
Heritage Academy’s junior school teaches the Ontario Curriculum, focusing on a building a strong understanding of the fundamental skills in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. Between grades 1-6 students can receive the SMT program during the school day; from grade 7-8 this is done outside regular school hours. Our junior school provides our students with a strong academic base and the confidence needed to transition successfully into secondary school.
Senior School: Grades 9-12
Applications are currently being accepted for admission to the senior school.
Heritage Academy’s senior school attracts students who will benefit from an educational accommodation plan based on their learning disability. Our teachers use a multisensory approach that emphasises kinaesthetic learning and works with students on their executive functioning skills.
At the senior level we continue to reinforce basic academic skills, while emphasising self-advocacy and supporting individuality amongst students as they prepare to move to the next level of their education. Our senior school gives students the tools they need to succeed, and the vast majority of our graduates move on to post-secondary education.
Tuition:
Tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year is $13,000. The breakdown is as follows:
- $3000 due upon registration
- $1250 due each month from April 2012 to January 2013 (8 payments)
Tuition including the SMT/EMS program from the 2012-2013 academic year is $14,500. The breakdown is as follows:
- $3500 due upon registration
- $1375 due each month from April 2012 to January 2013 (8 payments)
Late applicants may be accepted depending on available space. In this instance an individual pay schedule will be created on a case-by-case basis.
