Heritage Academy of Learning Excellence is a non-profit private school centrally located in Ottawa, Ontario. We deliver junior, intermediate and senior curriculum to Grades 1 through 12. We specialize in teaching students with dyslexia, as well as other learning disabilities such as ADD/ADHD.

Heritage Academy offers an individual approach to teaching and learning that fosters self-confidence and potential in our students. Our unique program equips students with the skills they need to manage their learning disability and achieve academic success. Our teachers will work with your child to identify goals and will ensure he/she has the specific accommodations needed to achieve those goals.

With a 1:10 teacher to student ratio (1:12 ratio for senior classes), students can receive the individualized attention they need to learn effectively. At Heritage Academy, students also can benefit from SMT (Simultaneous Multisensory Training), a reading and writing program specifically designed for dyslexic students. Students with learning disabilities may also suffer from anxiety, stress or depression; our staff is aware of this reality and is well-equipped with strategies and techniques to work with students who may experience a variety of these exceptionalities.

At Heritage Academy, students are able to be themselves and learn in a safe and accepting environment. We treat our school as a small community where we all work together to create an inclusive and accepting space.
